India Pale Ale 5.5% ABV 13.5°P
The IPA, or India Pale Ale, has been doomed to survive since its inception. This heavily hopped beer was created to withstand the long sea voyages to India, where it was exported to the British colonists there. Around 20 years ago, this ale began its revival in independent US breweries. With the speed of an explosion, IPA has become the flagbearer of craft brewing. It is a style that has inspired many changes in the beer scene and turned many beer lovers into gourmets.
Hops are central to this beer. They act as a natural preservative and give the beer a strong bitterness. During cold-hopping, when the beer is additionally hopped after fermentation, the essential oils from the hops dissolve in the beer, usually enriching it with floral, fruity and pine aromas.
