Exhibition of paintings ,,Battle of the Waves''

How famous are you -
You drown out thoughts, even heartbeats.
How beautiful you are -
Windswept and drawn.
How cunning you are -
You froth on white horses and you make your way.
But the waves are breaking, the depths are clearing...
I know, the sea is already in me.

The most characteristic form of movement in the surface waters of the seas and oceans is waves. The main cause is wind blowing over the water. Its gusts ripple the surface causing ripples. When the wind blows relentlessly, the ripples grow into crested waves that break (wave transformation) in the deep sea or ocean, breaking off into spray. This creates a battle of the waves (breaking). When the wind dies down, there is still a restriction of the water surface and long, flat waves. The waves are also caused by the moon's gravitational forces. Tides (in the oceans) This is how the planet pulses.
"It is the power and beauty of wave crests that fascinates artists of all disciplines, including me. Especially when you live close to the sea, it is no wonder that it becomes a source of inspiration for your work'', says the artist. After all, waves can be calm, gushing, standing, falling, flowing, splashing, gently rippling, raging and furiously dangerous. All kinds. No wonder the battle of the waves perfectly reflects human feelings and inner states. Moreover, water itself, in general, is one of the fundamental foundations of Creation. Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's opinion supports this idea: "Water, it is too little to say that you are necessary for life: you are life itself".

No matter how upset or disturbed a person may be, taking a dip in the calm flow of water soothes thoughts and feelings, because it absorbs what hurts. Conversely, a stormy sea or ocean, each time bringing up frantic waves, darkening the sky and blackening the sun, reminding man of his own greatness, is a source of change, often teaching him courage, endurance, enthusiasm, optimism, giving him the energy and confidence to be strong, tempering his character and inspiring him to create. It is a common comparison that the effects of the sea and the mountains are equally incomparable. But the mountains stand still, while the sea is different every day. Just as the water is home to a myriad of beautiful, interesting or strange life forms, so the human subconscious is teeming with instincts, pent-up feelings, undiscovered abilities and powers. No wonder - water affects us. It is multifaceted, changing and, in this way, similar to ourselves.
"Battle of the Waves" is Birutė Česnauskienė's sixth solo exhibition of paintings. This time it is a series of marinist landscapes. The works are executed in mixed media: acrylic painting on canvas, complemented by acrylic pouring technique.
"Painting with acrylics on canvas is a magical way to convey what you see, feel, imagine... in different colours and shades. The play of light, light strokes, dabs, painterly experiments create the overall whole of the paintings, but at the same time different moods and emotions," says the author.
