This expressive ale combines the acidity and freshness of sea buckthorn berries with the hoppiness of pale Indian ale.
Sea buckthorn (Latin: Hippophae rhamnoides) is a plant that has been used for centuries in traditional medicine in European and Asian countries. It is known for its bright orange berries. Sea buckthorn berries are rich in nutrients and bioactive compounds.
In the cup, this elderflower has a bright yellowish colour with orange tones and a white head. The initial explosion of sea buckthorn on the palate transitions smoothly into a hoppy symphony created by a combination of Nelson Sauvin, Cascade, Centennial, HBC 630 hops.
The aftertaste is quite dry, although the beer is medium-bodied, with a lingering sea buckthorn berry acidity.
