This lager beer was brewed to celebrate one of the biggest beer events in the world - Octoberfest, held in Munich, Germany. Octoberfest is so popular, it is frequently celebrated in other parts of the world where smaller events take place for that occasion.
Festbier is a golden to deep gold color. It has a malty, slightly sweet flavor, with a mild hop bitterness. It is malt-forward with a bready sweetness and a slight floral or herbal hop character. It has a crisp, clean finish, making it ideal for drinking in large mugs (or “Maß").
In order to give this tradition some local twist, we implemented authentic Lithuanian keptinis beer technology, where part of the mash is formed into loaves and baked in wood fired oven until it caramelises and gets darker in colour. This way the beer has some malty sweetness, with caramel and bread-like flavors, along with hints of smokiness and nuttiness due to the baking process.
