Every autumn we have a tradition of brewing hop harvest ale.
Hops start growing in spring. Latter in the summer they absorb rain drops and warm sunshine. In autumn hop cones are mature and ready for cropping. If you tear it apart you will see yellowish powder inside. That’s lupulin. It contains all that brewers value so much - alpha acids, taste and aroma.
Brewing with freshly harvested hops is always a magical and special experience. It marks a new season, new beginning. But the world is big and in some parts the seasons are different. Now it’s spring in Europe and the hops only start growing from the soil. But in New Zealand it’s autumn and they’re rapidly picking the hop crops that were harvested trough the summer.
This way we came to the idea of brewing hop harvest ale in spring. But we needed fresh hops. These hops have reaches us by plane. The variety is called Motueka. They were harvested in New Zealand in March this year and we put them all into a hazy IPA style beer.
We invite you for an exclusive aromatherapy session with our new creation.
